Shankara was born on Vaishakh Shukla Panchami in Punarvasu Nakshatra, Yudhishthir Samvat 2631, Kali Samvat 2593, that is 16 April 509 B.C. at Kaladi village in Kerala.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya (16 April 509 B.C.)
India has produced many saints, great men and propounds of religious . Shankaracharya holds a unique place as the founder of Vedic religion.
His father Shiv Guru was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. His mother Aryambika was also a religious minded lady. They worshipped Lord Shiva they were blessed with an austere promising son.
He was very different from others. He was Shankar after Shiva. when Shankar was merely three his father died. His mother had to face heavy odds. Despite of wants and scarcity of resources. She did not let Shankar's Studies suffer. She Started teaching him herself. At the age of five his 'Yagyopavit' i.e thread ceremony was performed and he was sent to Gurukul for studies. His fellows at the Gurukul were astonished  to see his great qualities. In merely two years. He learnt the most difficult Veda-Vedanta Lesson and came back to his mother.
He Faced a Peculiar Predicament on his return.

He saw his mother is  Suffering from Poverty and disease in the House and outside he saw mankind suffering due to innumerable problems on one side stood his helpless mother and on the other side was the world with all its sufferings and disparities.everywhere communal riots between religious sections Orthodox and dogmatic beliefs filled the world with all its suffering and disparities.

He was determined to change this sad plight of the people and the sad plight of the people and the country. He set out to give shape to his determination.
During those days the Malabar ruler was an admirer of Scholars. He wanted to make Shankar his court Scholar or a  Raj Pandit .
He begged his mother to allow him to become a Sanyas .His mother could not allow as her heart was not made of stone to part with her only hope once while he was having both in a stream called Bagmati, his leg was cobed a crocodile .It was pulling him towards the stream whereas Shankar was struggling to pull the leg out .Mother was watching this struggle restlessly.

His mother preferred separation than the loss Shankar once more impored, Mother if you allow me to become a Sanyasi this reptile will leave me. Her motherly love was verpowered by the welfare of her son. She allowed him to become a Sanyasi.
He became the disciple of the age of merely thirty two. He left  his perishable body and became immortal.
Gobind Bhawadpad as a Sanyasi. He practised yoga and written no time perfected yogic asanas and attained the aims of yogic asanas and attained the aims of yogic asanas. He studied Advaita in depth. His Guru asked him to go to Kassi to write a commentary on Vedants Sutras.
He fulfilled his Guru's command at Kassi. He made many disciples there Padampadacharya was prominent among them. Shankaracharya Challenged many dog was there. He debated with many learned Scholars and established his beliefs .The defeated Scholars became his disciples.
He walked down to every nook and corner of the country. He crossed mountains and rivers to establish the superiority of Vedanta and Advaita wherever. He was able toe end conflicts among the believers of Jain and Buddhist religions.
Adi Guru Shanaracharya removed the dogmatic beliefs if the people of Karnataka .He established four seats of education on the four corners of the country He wrote many religious books .
