Marco Polo was an Italian merchant whose family loved adventure. Young Marco Polo, His father Niccolo, And uncle Maffeo, Set off on a long journey, By land, In 1271.
They went to China and Mongolia to the court of the Kublai Khan ,who asked them to be his ambassadors to the Pope. Marco Polo returned to Italy after twenty ?four years, And wrote a book about his amazing journey. He is said to have discovered a land route to the far East.
