“He was a renowned astrologer and astronomer ,Varahamihira’s book “Panchsiddhanta”holds a prominent place in the realm of astronomy.He claimed that the
moon and planets are lustrous not because of their own light but due to sunlight .In the “Bruhud Samhita” and “Brushad Jatak” he had revealed his discoveries
in the domain of geography , on constellation ,botany and animal science which are conceptually advanced .In his treatise on botanical science ,Varahamihira recommends cures for various diseases afflicting the plants and trees
