श्री गोस्वामी तुलसीदास
कवि कुलभूषण गोस्वामी तुलसीदास का जन्म प्रयाग मे बांदा जिले के राजपुर नामक ग्राम मे हुआ था | इनकी जन्म तिथि के विषय में बड़ा मत भेद है सन १५५४ मे आपका जन्म हुआ ये मत ठीक जान परता है इनके पिता का नाम पंडित आत्मा राम दुबे और माता का नाम तुलसी था | इन्ही भाग्यवान दम्पति के यहाँ १२ माह गर्भ मे रहने के बाद तुलसी दास जी का जन्म अभुकता मूल नक्षत्र मे हुआ था | बालक तुलसीदास जन्म के समय रोये नही बलिक इनके मुख से राम शब्द निकला | जन्म के समय इनका डील-डोल ५ वर्ष के बालक के सामान था | इन सब विचित्रताओ से डर के माता पिता ने अनिष्ट होने की आशंका से इनका परित्याग करके तुलसी की दासी चुनिया को देकर उन्हे उनकी ससुराल भेज दिया दुसरे ही दिन तुलसी का देहांत हो गया जब तुलसी दास साढ़े पांच वर्ष के हुए तो चुनिया का देहांत हो गया भगवान शंकर जी की प्रेरणा से स्वाम नरध्यान्न्द जी ली गये वे इन्हे पहले अयोध्या जी और बाद मे शुक्र चैत्र मे ले गये उनका नाम रामबोला रखा गया तथा सन १५६१ की मात्र शुक्ल पंचमी को इनको यज्ञोपवित्र संस्कार किया गया अत्यंत प्रखर बुद्द्दी होने के कारण रामबोला ने अल्प आयु मे बहुत विद्या उपार्जन कर लिया | इन्होने अपने गुरु जी को श्री रामचरित्र मानस कंठस्त करके सुनाया तब उन्होने इनका नाम तुलसीदास रख दिया | कुछ समय पश्चात् आप काशी चले गये वहा १५ वर्ष तक वेदों का अध्ययन किया आप का विवाह पंडित दीन बंधु पाठक की सुन्दरी कन्या रत्नावली से हुआ | गोस्वामी जी अपनी स्त्री पर अत्यंत आसक थे | एक बार वे अपने मायके चली गयी तो आप भी उनके पीछे-पीछे वहा पहुच गये अत्यंत लज्जित होके उन्होने इनकी निंदा की और कहा |
लाज न लागत आपको, दौरे आयहु साथ |
धिक-धिक ऐसे प्रेम को कहाँ कहहुं मे नाथ | |
अस्थि चर्ममय देह मम, तामे ऐसी प्रीती |
तैसी जो श्रीराम मे, छेती न तो भव भीती |
तीर मर्म स्थल मे लगा गोस्वामी जी सांसारिक बंदन त्याद के श्री राम भक्ति के प्रशस्त्र मार्ग पर वेग से दौड़ चले १६३१ के मदु मास की रामनवमी को श्री रामचरित मानस की रचना आरम्भ की | इस महान काव्य की रचना मे २ वर्ष ७ महीने २६ दिन मे लिख कर समाप्त हुआ | उनके राम-मानवीय मर्यादाओ और आदर्शो के प्रतिक है | जिसके माध्यम से तुलसी ने नीति स्नेह शील विनय त्याग जैसी उदात आदर्शो को प्रतिशित किया रामचरित्र मानस उतरी भारत की जनता के बीच बहुत लोकप्रिय है | मानस के अलावा कवितावली, गीतावली, दोहावली, कृष्ण गीतावली, विनय पत्रिका आदि उनकी प्रमुख रचनाये है | अवधि और ब्रज दोनों भाषाओ पर उनका सामान अधिकार है | तुलसी ने रामचरित्र मानस की रचना अवधि मे और विनयपत्रिका तथा कवितावली की रचना ब्रज भाषा मे की | विनयपत्रिका की रचना गेय पदों मे हुई है कवितावली मे सवैया और कवित छेद की छटा देखी जा सकती है | गोस्वामी जी ने गृहस्त वेश त्यागकर साधु वेश धारण कर लिया | काशी में तुलसी दास जी एक स्थान पर नित्य कथा सुनने जाते थे, कथा समाप्त होने पर नगर से बहार शोच करते और लोटे का बचा हुआ जल एक पीपल की जड़ में छोड़ आते | उस वृक्ष पर एक प्रेत रहता था | नित्य प्रति अपवित्र जल मिलने से वह बड़ा सुखी होता था | एक दिन प्रसन्न होकर तुलसी दास जी से वर मांगने को को कहने लगा | तब तुलसी दास ने अपने मन की अभिलाषा, श्री राम चन्द्र जी के दर्शन की इच्छा उससे प्रकट की प्रेत ने यह सुनकर कहा की भगवान के दर्शन करवाने की सामर्थ्य तो मुझमें नही है, पर में तुम्हे उपाय बताता हूँ | जहाँ तुम रामायण की कथा सुनने जाते हो वहा नित्य प्रति मैले कुचले ब्रह्मण का वेश धर कर हनुमान जी आते है वे सबसे पहले आते है और सबसे पीछे जाते है वेही तुम्हे रघुनाथ जी के दर्शन करा सकते है | दुसरे दिन तुलसी दास ने हनुमान जी को पहचान कर एकांत पाकर उनके चरण पकड़ लिए और अनेक बार माना करने पर भी नहीं छोड़ा | तब हनुमान जी ने प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें दर्शन दिए और रघुनाथ जी के दर्शनों के लिए चित्रकूट चलने को कहा | मार्ग में उन्हें दो घुड़सवार अत्यंत मनोहर रूप वाले, श्याम गौर वर्ण, के किशोरे अवस्था वाले, धनुष बाण धारण किये हुए जाते मिले | तुलसी दास जी उन्हें देखकर मुग्ध हो गए किन्तु पहचान न सके | हनुमान जी द्वारा अपनी भूल ज्ञात होने पर वे बड़े पछताए | तब हनुमान जी ने उन्हें सांत्वना दी की अभी रघुनाथ जी के दर्शन फिर होंगे |
सन १६०७ की मौनी अमावस्या बुधवार के दिन भागवान पुनः प्रकट हुए | तुलसी दास चित्रकूट पर चन्दन घिस रहे थे | तभी दो बालक आकार चन्दन मांगने लगे | तुलसी दास ने चन्दन दिया और उनके हाथ से अपने मस्तक पर चन्दन लगवाने लगे | हनुमान जी ये जान कर की ये दुबारा भी धोखा न खा जावे तोते का रूप धरकर ये दोहा पढ़ा |
चित्रकूट के घाट पर, भई संतन की भीर|
तुलसी दास चन्दन घिसे, तिलक देत रघुवीर ||
तब तुलसी दास को ध्यान आया उन्होंने भागवान की रूपमाधुरी को खूब छककर पिया| तत्पश्चात भागवान अंतर्ध्यान हो गए |
