Donate to PM Modi's Indian Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties

1. Post the recent tragedy at Siachen, where one JCO and nine OR of 19 MADRAS lost their lives due to an avalanche, there was a grand swell of sentiments in the nation towards the contribution of the Indian Army.

2. There was also a perceived desire of public spirited citizens wanting to contribute financially for the welfare of the next of kins/dependents of Battle casualties. Earlier too, there have been similar requests for finance especially for the welfare of bereaved families.

3. Accordingly, the issue was deliberated upon holistically in consultation with MoD and since then a new account "Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties" has been opened in the Accts Sec/CW Dte to provide financial assistance to Next of Kins/Widows/Dependents of Battle Casualties

4. Apropos, a write up on Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties is enclosed herewith dissemination of the same to the envt by hosting the same on DIAV website

5. This has the approval of the AG.

Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties

1.  Indian Army is maintaining an account named Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties, which accepts donation for the families of battle casualties.. The donations received in the fund are utilized to pay financial assistance/ grant to widows of our Battle Casualties, their next of kins and dependents. Individual based donations are not accepted. However, for such cases we could facilitate financial assistance to the beneficiary.

2. To donate for the overall cause you may forward a Demand Draft in favour of Army Welfare Fund Battle Casualties payable at New Delhi at the following address:
