Indian National Army (INA) [1942-1945]

Also popularly known as the “Azad Hind Fauj” was established on 21 October 1943 [Singapore].
Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind (आर्ज़ी हुक़ूमत-ए-आज़ाद हिन्द) Provisional Government of Free India.

On Declaring Indian Independence

British Prime Minister Clement Atlee cites INA (Indian National Army) activities as one of the influential factor in British decision of leaving India where Rin Mutiny made British realize that it was no longer possible for them to trust the support of the Indian armed forces.

My Grandfather Abdul Aziz Tajik(From Peshawar) joined INA in Singapore alongwith Col Shahnawaz. He was also imprisoned at the Red Fort.Here his name is incorrectly written as Aziz Ahmed, which may please be corrected.There was another officer in INA By the name of Prince Burhanuddin( From Chitral)whom I met at Chitral during 1985, when I was a Captain.My grandfather passed away during 1969.I would be grateful if any one could send more details.I also suggest that a website be made where all the relatives of INA members could post photos and details.I fail to understand why successive Ghandi Governments played down the heroism of Neta Ji, who if alive would have made India a great Nation and history would have been different.

My grand Father Colonel Abdul Aziz Tajik joined INA in Singapore alongwith Col Shahnawaz,his name has been written as Aziz Ahmed which may please be corrcted to Col Abdul Aziz Tajik.I have some historical pictures and suggest that a website be made of the pioneers of INA where all the surviving relatives of the INA members can be posted.I am certain if Ghandi Jee had not politically opposed Neta Ji, the history of the Subcontinent would have been different.

My name jagdish gulati my father was freedom fighter he was in ina he got tampatra from our prime minister in 1972 15 aug if any body help to know my father
his name TARACHAND GULATI ABOUT HIS ASSOCIATION WITH NETAJI DURING HE WAS IN SINGAPORE DURING AZAD HIND FAUJ LAUNCH

S. Gurdev Singh Mann also took 18 months training at Sganghai for Azad Hind Fauj. His roll number was 80. Please find his name in your list. He is living in Punjab, India and he told me all this.
